TSC (Thyristor Switched Capacitor): Thyristor Switched Capacitor, using or passive components (capacitors) for reactive power compensation, graded compensation, can not achieve continuously adjustable.
TCR (Thyristor Controlled Reactor): thyristor controlled reactor.
MCR (Magnetism Controlled Reactor): Magnetism Controlled Reactor, similar to TCR, needs to cooperate with capacitor bank to realize dynamic reactive power compensation, and can realize continuous adjustable.
SVC (Static Var Compensator): Static reactive power compensation device, the use of passive components for reactive power compensation technology, including TSC, TCR, etc., "static" is the corresponding synchronous regulator, in general, the use of thyristors for control of the compensation device is called "SVC".
SVG (Static Var Generator): Static reactive power generator, the use of power conversion technology to realize the reactive power compensation.
The biggest difference between SVG and others is that it can actively issue reactive current to compensate the load reactive current. The others are passive methods, relying on the passive device's own properties for reactive power compensation.
